Lisa has worked as a teacher, manager, director and community organizer for multiple philanthropic, political and educational based organizations. She established the San Francisco based Presidio Gate Group, a public interest firm to help independent consultants like herself work collaboratively on shared community projects. As a communications and events consultant she has worked with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, New Israel Fund, Congregation Sha’ar Zahav, PatchWorks Films, and the School of Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She has also worked with Full Circle Fund, and the San Francisco based JCF and Endowment Fund to direct philanthropic resources, organize community outreach, manage event planning teams, conduct training and develop social media strategies.
Prior to living and working in San Francisco, Lisa served as a close adviser to United States Congressman, Jared Polis. As the Founding Executive Director of the Jared Polis Foundation, she created a diversified philanthropic strategy that Rep. Polis continues to rely on today. Together with Congressman Polis, she managed a staff of 20, administered grants to community programs, and managed the creation of three unique public charter schools as well as four nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organizations.
Having grown up working in her family’s midwestern home decorating retail store, Lisa knows how to work hard while maintaining focus on a constantly evolving big picture. She completed the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership San Francisco program, received a BA from the University of Oregon and earned a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. In her spare time she gardens, babysits to support her global wanderlust, teaches religious school and spoils her nieces.
